“The end result felt less like simply presenting data and more like finding the story within our data and building a resource that helps other people see it too.”

An interactive visual that allows the audience to see the stories behind the work going on and how they can partner to multiply the impact.
“Anima Data took the time to understand our mission and use our data to help tell our story. The result is a resource that makes our data easier to engage with and gives our organization a better way to communicate our work to others.”

I'm Leo Rule, a healthcare analyst with an MPH and a concentration in epidemiology who got tired of watching good data sit in spreadsheets. I've spent 4+ years inside health insurance, healthcare quality, and health policy organizations building data tools and visuals. I built dashboards that surfaced workload patterns and changed how teams operated. I've processed data for thousands of ambulatory surgery centers and turned it into stories that made decision-makers take notice.
Anima Data exists because most organizations are sitting on data that can transform their organization, but they just don't have the time or the framing to draw out the data story. I turn that underused data into interactive, visual stories that help your organization communicate its impact and move the people who matter.
If your data is doing more sitting than working, Anima Data can change that.
Common questions we get asked before a project kicks off. We want to serve your data storytelling needs. If you have a question, contact us.
Whatever you have. A messy spreadsheet, a 200-page report, a database export, or a folder of survey responses. We will partner with you to dig in and figure out the story.
Yes. Along with the live piece, you get high-resolution still images and the source files, so the same visuals can go into grant reports, board presentations, and community meetings.
Carefully. The people behind your data are the reason the story matters, so we protect them. Names are changed and marked as changed, we leave out exact dates and identifying details, and nothing is published without your sign-off. If your data includes health information, we agree on how it's handled before anything changes hands.
A dynamic snapshot is delivered in two to three weeks. Interactive storytelling pieces run six to ten weeks depending on scope. Larger analytical tools and multi-chapter narratives take eight to fourteen weeks. We'll give you a firm timeline after our first scoping call.
Every project is unique, so we will talk through data complexity, number of stories, and the assets your team needs. Once we scope out the work, we send a fixed-scope quote, no surprises.
We want to keep you in the loop without it taking over your schedule. We take a collaborative approach to our work, which means an initial kick-off session, a brainstorming session, and then a regular cycle of check-ins to make sure we are working towards your vision.
Send us a note through the form below with a sentence or two about your data and your objectives. We'll set up a no-strings-attached call to talk through the story and scope.
Yes. Send us your guidelines and we'll work inside them — type, color, motion principles, and tone. If you don't have a system or want a fresh visual direction just for this project, we can build one alongside the story.
We use AI to work efficiently (research, first passes, finding patterns) and we'll always be transparent about where and how. But we never hand off anything AI-generated that hasn't had a human touch. AI can't create the emotional resonance that moves people to action; that takes a person who has sat with your data and felt what it means. Every piece that leaves our studio has been shaped by human hands and human judgment.
